Builders + Backers was excited to expand into Iowa City for the Winter 2022 cohort. From our first visit, we saw the strong ecosystem support for entrepreneurs of all stages and that support system turned out to be more robust than we even had expected.
It did not take long to uncover the innovative creators and savvy entrepreneurs that call Iowa City home. One of our Builders, Nicole, developed a music app that turns music theory digital making it easier to learn and at your own pace. Another Builder, Mike, designed an e-learning platform that revolutionizes spatial and memory skills for children, which will improve school performance and grow confidence. Finally, we saw the beauty of artistic representation with Monique’s launch of Afro-centric garden products.
The Builders took the learnings of the program truly to heart - getting scrappy and experimenting with low/no code tools. We can wait to see what’s next with our new Iowa City cohort launching soon.
